I headed up north on Saturday to Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in the Upper Peninsula. It was beautiful, 75 degrees and sunny (though you wouldn’t guess that from the ice still on Lake Superior). I hiked about eight miles on Saturday, but drove a total of 670 miles, so I had plenty of time to recuperate. I visited several waterfalls and a lighthouse. The lighthouse was cool, but I couldn’t make a good photo of it despite my efforts. Wager Falls is pictured above.

On the way home, I stopped at a wayside north of Menominee, MI to do some stargazing. I wish we had skys this dark closer to home. Above is a 10 minute expose of some star trails. Unfortunately, I didn’t notice the airplane that flew through the frame or I would have taken another one.
