Today, nothing really come together for me photographically, but I got to see some new places. This was taken near the northwest tip of the island, facing east, and it’s a piece of shit. It rained on-and-off all day, which I was fine with. For various reasons, I just couldn’t get to where I thought would be a good place to shoot from.

Here are three panoramas I made today. The top one is near the town of Waialua on the north side. The bottom two were taken from the road leading into Diamond Head Crater. They even have overlapping content, only with a slightly difference vantage point and focal length lens. We actually went into the crater, but no one else with me was willing to make the hour and a half round trip hike to the rim and back. On top of that, once we got home a fireball erupted from the grill as a lit it, singeing my eyelashes, hair, eyebrows, and some hair on my arm. None of my skin was burnt, but the tips of the affected hair turned kinda tan-ish and curled up. Besides the the visual flavor this adds to my face, my upper and lower eyelashes interlock like pieces of Velcro every time I blink. That’s not bothersome at all.
Tomorrow, I’ll be out on my own and can keep the car until 5 PM. I plan on leaving here between 5:30 and 6:00 AM to get where I’m going for sunrise. It’s 11:40 PM here (4:41 AM CDT), clear skys and 71°. It really doesn’t matter how bad my photography is, it’s nicer here than it is in Milwaukee.
It’s 9:30AM here, which means its 4:30AM there, which means you may very well be up for the day. Its nice seeing these photos—certainly nicer than looking at the asshole crust that serves as Milwaukee in April. I look forward to seeing what your day yields.
Great job on the photo’s and comments Matt. It’s amazing that how we people see things differently. Thank God for having the Gift of seeing the beauty of His Creatioin.
