Of the all the pictures I took on Saturday, I like this one of Uncle Nick the best. Some more can be seen here. I used every bit of the extra data in my RAW files for these. Without the extensive use of the ‘Fill Light’ slider, most of my pictures would be really underexposed (some still are). There were only a couple of locations I could stand and get both of my flashes to fire. Shooting vertically also posed a problem as I would loose the line-of-sight needed between my on-camera flash and remote flash. The two remote flashes didn’t provide enough light for the scene either, so I had to use the on-camera flash as a fill light too. In many of the pictures the tell-tale shadows produced by an on-camera flash are very noticeable, which just looks amateurish. I don’t ever want to do this again.
Looks like I missed out on quite the shindig.
