I like clouds. I’ll stop just to take pictures them. Today I was driving down Hwy 106 when I saw these wispy little devils. I pulled over and photographed them blowing over this gently rolling, but largely featureless farmland. This ranks right up there with some of the desktop backgrounds that shipped with Windows XP.
From there it was all down hill. Here’s one from the ‘What was I thinking?’ folder, taken a bit later in the day. I thought the trees, with their shadows being cast down the hillside looked interesting. After seeing this photo, nobody else could.

Dear Sir,
What initially got me following your blog was a photo of an astronaut wearing cool futuristic black garb in a fantastical space station located in the furthest reaches of space. While I too enjoy wispy clouds I am eager to see more of the dark galactic crusader you introduced in a previous post. Surely a new magazine must have arrived at his desolate outpost.
I’m sorry to report that the astronaut you speak of has died. He mistakenly assumed that the motorcycle helmet and leather he wore daily met the specifications of a space suit. In an attempt to perform a scheduled spacewalk (84b – which was necessary to improve the quality and reception of the station’s on-board Direct TV service), he opened both airlock hatches and soon asphyxiated. His replacement is expected to arrive sometime in 2025.
