I’ve been occasionally working on this bowl for several months, but a recent trickle of ambition brought about it’s completion. I then spent the last two nights taking pictures of it.

The bowl is made of madrone burl, and the little stand it sits on is made of ebony.

The bowl is 8″ in diameter and 1.5″ high.

The stand is a little under 2″ in diameter and about .25″ high.

The bottom is partially gilded with specks 23k gold .

It was finished with 15 coats of lacquer that I sanded to 1500 grit and polished with automotive polishes to a high gloss.
