Today I was in Zion, IL at this park on Lake Michigan. It  features at least a couple well weathered structures that have become divorced from whatever used to connect them to shore.

I prefer the more substantial concrete versions of whatever these are called, as seen locally.

Much like the structures above, this seagull has seen better days. As I walked toward it, he ungracefully hopped from rock-to-rock to get away. He flapped his wings a couple of times, but seemed unable to fly. I think he’s missing some primary feathers, which could explain the problem, but that’s just a guess.
